1 Essential When Choosing a Realtor®

Saw this joke the other day, and got me thinking:

A police officer pulled over someone for speeding.
Police Officer: May I see your real estate licence please.
Driver: You mean my driver's licence?
Police Officer: No, not everyone in Vancouver has one of those...

So many agents, so many options. If I were to quit selling real estate, and needed to hire an agent, there would be one thing I'd do before ANYONE even got in my front door for a talk.
Google.
If the agent doesn't have a website (shocking how many still don't), goodbye. For the simple reason, that if they're not willing to spend a bit of time and money on a website, what are they willing to spend their time and money on??
Furthermore, if they don't have a website, they may not be doing this gig full time. It seems more and more that we're dealing with agents that take a looong time to respond, and when they do, have very limited time slots they can correspond. Sooo, goodbye.
The last thing I'd check is their references/testimonials. If they had good reviews on Facebook, Google, Yelp, etc...  then they're in the running. Most agents will have past homes they've sold on their website. Don't be afraid to ask for a letter from those clients. It's recent reliable data!
